I am extremely pleased with my daughter’s accomplishments, with Kristen's help. Kristen is an excellent speech therapist! She has not only helped my daughter grow in speech but she has helped us all grow as a family.
Kristen has truly helped our family for the better. Her expertise in the field has supported our daughter's speech development more than we ever dreamt. Without her I am positive that her communication would not be where it is today.
Kristen's care, patience, and attention to detail led to my son making several strides with his communication which helped him progress in school and even improved his behaviors at home. I am grateful for all of the work Kristen did.

NeuroKids treats ALL speech and communication disorders.
More commonly known as stuttering, this type of therapy focuses on increasing a child's fluency (by reducing their stuttering), along with addressing the psychological factors associated with stuttering.
This type of therapy focuses on producing sounds correctly and clearly. For example, some kids say “wabbit” instead of “rabbit.” Misproductions negatively affect one’s ability to communicate clearly and effectively. Therefore, speech therapy intervention is essential.
Apraxia of Speech is a disorder where a person’s brain has difficulty planning and controlling speech movement and production. Our therapists specialize in apraxia of speech, including diagnosis and intensive treatment.
Some people communicate verbally using words, sentences, etc. Others use non-verbal communication, such as augmentative & alternative communication (AAC) devices, sign language, gestures, etc. Our SLPs help identify the best form of communication for our clients (including multi-model communication) and incorporate the modality(ies) into our therapy sessions.
This type of therapy focuses on two areas depending on the client’s need. Oral-motor weakness can negatively affect a person’s articulation (sound production), motor movements (making a straight, even smile), chewing, and swallowing. Oral-motor therapy also focuses on improving one’s motor planning, which helps the motoric control of their mouth and speech muscles. Volitional control is essential for speech production. This is a very niche area of speech therapy.
This treatment focuses on strengthening various areas of the brain, including attention, orientation, word finding/retrieval, memory (short-term, long-term, and working memory), problem-solving, and reasoning. These areas of cognition are essential for brain development and rehabilitation.
NeuroKids focuses attention on three categories of language:
We help children with comprehension and understanding of words (spoken or read) and support difficulty with following directions, attention, or an inability to understand and answer questions.
We support children in sharing information, ideas, or feelings (both verbally and written). Our therapy program targets using words to convey ideas, expanding vocabulary, and supporting grammatical development.
NeuroKids supports using non-verbal and verbal forms of language with social contexts. This can include navigating social and cultural norms for eye contact, facial expressions, body language, conversational turn-taking, and greetings.
Research indicates that delays in speech or language and especially phonemic awareness skills significantly affect later academic skills. Therefore, it is best to get an evaluation to rule out language delays or speech impairments rather than wait.

We focus on strengthening synapses in the brain and building new connections, hence our name, NeuroKids!
We believe in helping kids by doing what they do best - through play. Enjoying therapy is essential to their success in treatment; if they don't enjoy therapy, they aren't going to learn. Helping a child learn as effectively and efficiently as possible is vital in their therapy journey.
